Monthly Seminar
There is an ongoing monthly seminar to be offered in Omaha running from September through May. The topic of the Seminar for 2006-2007 will be Hysteria: Dora and beyond. The discussion and affective group will be led by IPI Faculty member, Dr. Geoffrey Anderson.

Philadelphia

Study Groups
Object Relations Overview. A monthly reading group, led by Charles Ashbach, which explores key analytic and object relations topics through a depth reading and discussion of the key thinkers in the field. Focus: Klein, Betty Joseph, Donald Meltzer, Herbert Rosenfeld, Thomas Ogden, Freud, Chasseguet-Smirgel.

On Narcissism. A monthly reading group, co-led by Charles Ashbach and Paul Koehler, which systematically explores the concept of narcissism from the perspectives of multiple theorists and writers.

Object Relations Theory and Practice. A study group led by Karen Fraley. One hour seminar based on essential readings by Freud, Klein, Winnicott and Bion, followed by one hour clinical case discussion. The seminar will focus on the fundamental principles of object relations psychoanalytic psychotherapy in clinical practice: holding and containment, developing a narrative, understanding and working with transference, countertransference and projective identification phenomena.

Contemporary Kleinian Perspectives of Psychoanalytic psychotherapy. A study group led by Paul Koehler. Currently: Exploring the Unconscious Dynamics of War and Terrorism

The International Psychotherapy Institute (IPI) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IPI maintains responsibility for the program and its content. IPI is recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for counselors (provider #6017). We adhere to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines. Application will be made on a per program basis to provide continuing education for social workers. IPI is a California Board of Behavioral Sciences approved continuing education provider for MFCC and LCSW licensure (approval #PCE 1508).
