IPI Metro Psychotherapy Center
Furthering IPI's aims of increased community service, IPI Metro has recently inaugurated a center offering low fee psychotherapy services to Montgomery County and the DC Metro area. The Center, under the guidance of acting director Kate Scharff, will initially operate out of the IPI Metro offices.
In addition to providing much needed low cost psychotherapy, the Center will also provide training opportunities for some IPI Metro students to conduct psychotherapy under the supervision of IPI Metro faculty. The Center will begin modestly, with plans for gradual growth.
IPI’s Advanced Seminar Series covers topics that are either in response to current events (for example, IPI faculty member Charles Ashbach, Ph.D., led a seminar on The Fog of War after the start of the Iraq War in 2003), or are of current interest to IPI’s membership (e.g., Group Leadership training in 2007). Often, these seminars are scheduled to coincide with one of IPI’s weekend conferences.
