A bi-monthly course for psychotherapists to develop skills for working more intensively
Taught by Faculty of the International Institute for Psychoanalytic Training
This program is designed for psychotherapists interested in a contemporary psychoanalytic approach to deepening the treatment process with their patients. It will suit clinicians who work mainly in once weekly psychotherapy and those who do some twice weekly psychotherapy and would like to develop their skills in this modality.
The format of the sessions will consist of meeting bi-monthly by telephone from 2:00 pm eastern time to 3:30 pm. The first meeting of each month will be a discussion of the recommended readings. The second monthly session will be a case presentation to be rotated among the participants. The readings will be from two different books. The first semester we will be reading A Healing Conversation: How Healing Happens by Neville Symington. The second semester we will read Introduction to the Practice of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy by Alessandra Lemma.
The year is divided in two separate semesters although they are designed to build on one another. The cost for each semester is $250.00 for 12 continuing education credit hours, or $450 for the full year for 24 continuing education credit hours.
